Mamacita Birth and Lactation
Mamacita Birth and Lactation
At your birth you will have a skilled and compassionate team for the safety and comfort of your birth experience. A licensed midwife and a primary student, in addition to an assistant student for a safe, smooth and calm birth.
I'm Lisa Boyd, an advanced student midwife, Lactation Consultant, Lamaze Childbirth Educator, Mom to three beautiful children and Grandma to three precious grandbabies!
My journey began with following my heart....a degree in Nutrition, Elementary Education, then homemaking and homeschooling my three children for many years. My intense love for birth, breastfeeding and the women who supported me during my young motherhood years inspired me to re-enter the work world as a Postpartum & Labor Doula.
The more I knew the more I wanted to know, which led to becoming a CLC, (Lactation Counselor) and then jumped fully into becoming an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I was hired by a local hospital and was mentored by several incredible women, including Mishell Whitacre, who encouraged and inspired me to delve deeper into my passion and becoming an LCCE (Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator). She mentored me in teaching community childbirth and breastfeeding classes.
I took the next step and now am in a midwifery apprenticeship with Mishell providing holistic lactation, pregnancy and postpartum support for women who desire an out of hospital, in home or birth center experience. I was fortunate to have my third baby at home in a redemptive, peaceful water birth supported by Midwives and loved ones. Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and raising little humans has transformed me. It was and is a beautiful, humbling, incredible education and so much more than I could ever have imagined. I am in awe when I am in the presence of women passing through these holy, deeply transformative moments. It is an honor to be invited into these sacred spaces.
We can do the most unimaginably difficult things with preparation, encouragement and support, and providing this is my calling and passion. You can learn more about me and my lactation services at LisaMBoyd.com
Hello, my name is Caitlin! I am a student midwife with the National Midwifery Institute. I also work as a birth and postpartum doula. I have been attending births since 2019. The families I work with continue to be my biggest teachers. I have learned the most in my midwifery training by witnessing, and listening to my client’s experiences. Before working in birth, I was a massage therapist and studied Western herbalism. I use both of these modalities now to support my clients.
I believe that we as individuals are the experts on our health, and our lives. I see my role in this work as being an advocate for families, providing personalized care by listening to my client’s experiences and needs, and empowering families with knowledge, so they can make informed choices for themselves.
I was born and raised on the Central Coast. I currently live in Los Osos with my partner and our sweet pets. When I am not attending births, you can find me working in my garden, hiking with our dogs, or hunting for hot springs.
Doulas are a vital addition to any birth team, especially first-time moms, VBACs and moms who are choosing an out of hospital birth for the first time! Studies have shown that having a Doula and a Midwife result in higher satisfaction with the birth experience and lowers unnecessary interventions and C-section rates.
Mamacita highly encourages having a Doula at your birth so that you have early labor support before your midwives arrive in later, active labor. We believe in Doulas so much that we include a Doula with our basic package which includes one prenatal visit with one of our Doulas before your birth, and then she also attends your birth. For a full-service package you may contract directly with the doula.
Hi, I am Kathy Tuck.
Being a Doula is at the heart of who I am, helping families to feel supported and cared for emotionally, physically and spiritually. I love to have families view their birth experience as feeling empowered, educated, confident, advocated for and heard as they welcome their baby. With God’s saving grace and with His power I am grateful to love, pray for and support families.
With decades of experience, I have attended many hundreds of births and had the privilege of seeing the gift of life firsthand. I have encountered many situations and have been able to come alongside Moms and Dads in a way that makes them feel supported and empowered.
I am active in the birthing and lactation community and invest in families in SLO County in hospitals, birth centers and home births. I enjoy photography and capturing the beautiful moments of birth and sharing those photo memories with families. My passion for birthing allows me to be fully committed to a couple, especially with helping to achieve natural birth and specializing in vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) or however you choose to bring your baby to you. I want to empower through each one’s personality types, and I have a listening ear to help guide you.
I love spending time with my husband of 43 years, family and 4 grandkids when I can. I enjoy walking, especially on the beautiful Central Coast.
A few of my credentials: B.S., Certified Doula, Childbirth and Lactation Educator, Perinatal Educator / Coordinator for an OB Center.
Specialties include: TOLAC-VBAC, working with birth trauma / healing, postpartum follow up and postpartum depression / anxiety. Years of supporting hospital birth, home birth and I value working with midwives.

I'm Jade of Well Watered Doula.
I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we have two sons. We got married at 19 and 20 years old and the United States Air Force moved us to Mississippi for a handful of years until we moved back to where we met and grew up in our home area of the Central Coast of California in 2017. I am a certified birth doula and certified VBAC doula. I love anything that allows me to be creative that I can pour my heart and soul into. My passions are singing, leading worship, decorating everything, and community. I carry deep empathy for others and have a strong passion for justice. I believe in inviting God into every area of life (especially birth) and I believe He put a desire and gifting to serve in my heart from a very young age.
