Lactation Services

Not just one, but TWO IBCLC's (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants) work with Mamacita: Lisa Boyd and Mishell Whitacre.   Home visits are available with pre & post-feed weights and assistance with all breastfeeding issues.  We want to see moms gain confidence and grow with their breastfeeding experience

Breastfeeding Facts: Did you know evidence shows newborns can (and should) eat 8-15+ times or more in 24 hours? And the more they suckle, the faster your milk increases in volume, creating a positive feedback loop between your pituitary gland and your breasts to make more milk! Moms can have very tender nipples in the first few days, but pain, with toes curling or bleeding, cracked nipples are definitely not normal. Help is needed with proper positioning and latching.
